Aaron Sweeney

Founder, CEO, Head of Advisory

Aaron Sweeney has worked in the hedge fund industry for over 20 years. He is currently the Founding Partner of Hedge Fund Advisory firm Masterpiece Advisors, which services a global institutional client base. Prior to Masterpiece, Mr. Sweeney served in Managing Partner roles from 2009 to 2018 at multi-billion AUA Hedge Fund Advisory firm Analytical Research as the Director of Research and later as the Chief Strategist. Earlier in his career from 2004 to 2009, he traded a variety of equity and equity derivative instruments as a sales/proprietary trader at Bank Hapoalim and Investec. Additionally, within that period he ran the trading operation of a equity tail risk product, Southpole Capital, in 2006 (two years too early!). Mr. Sweeney started his hedge fund career in 2001 in the Hedge Fund Structured Products division of Zurich Financial Services, which later became part of BNP Paribas Equity Derivatives in 2003 after an acquisition. Mr. Sweeney holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.


Maureen Hladky

Director of Operational Due Diligence

Maureen Hladky serves as Masterpiece’s Head of Operational Due Diligence. Prior to joining Masterpiece, she served as Head of Operational Due Diligence at Analytical Research (2011-2018). From 2001 through 2010, Maureen was an investment due diligence analyst at hedge fund of funds firm Pioneer Alternative Investments, first as a Generalist covering all strategies and subsequently focusing on the Equity Long/Short strategy.  Maureen started her career at CIBC World Markets (previously Oppenheimer & Co, Inc.) serving as a Director in  the firm’s Asset Management Division’s Business Control Group providing research and compliance oversight on closed-end funds.  Maureen earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and Communications from Adelphi University.


Alice Healy

Research Supervisor

Alice Healy started her career in the global asset management industry in 1996 serving as a due diligence analyst in the asset management division of Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. After its merger with CIBC in 1998, Ms. Healy joined the firm’s newly created Alternative Asset Management team as a senior analyst working on the firm’s first fund of hedge funds offering. In 2000 she joined Momentum Asset Management, a UK based fund of funds business to work in their Bermuda office where she established and ran their global due diligence effort. In 2002, Ms. Healy moved to New York City to set up the Momentum Asset Management NY office which focused entirely on global investment due diligence. In 2003, the purchase of Momentum Asset Management by UniCredito completed and Ms. Healy was named Head of Research for Unicredito’s alternative fund of fund business, Pioneer Alternative Asset Management (PAAM). Ms. Healy was responsible for the team of analysts dedicated to the oversight and due diligence for the fund of funds’ alternative investment products which grew from $100 million to $1 billion in assets under management under her supervision. During her time as Head of Research, she relocated to Pioneer Alternative Asset Management’s headquarters in Dublin, Ireland where she oversaw the PAAM Investment Committee and global due diligence process. In 2005, Ms. Healy and the original founders of Momentum Asset Management formed Mazuma Asset Management, a UK based fund of funds to run specialized event driven products focusing in private equity, distressed and event driven funds. Ms. Healy ran Mazuma’s global due diligence and portfolio allocations for the firm. In 2011 Ms. Healy returned to the United States to form her own firm, Quillman Partners where she conducted due diligence for family offices, investment boards and advisory businesses. Since 2019, Ms. Healy had consulted to Analytical Research on numerous projects and has maintained strong professional relationships with key members of the Analytical Research team. Most recently Ms. Healy consulted to Masterpiece Hedge Fund Services focusing on due diligence related projects. In 2021 Ms. Healy formally joined the Masterpiece team working closely with and supporting Senior Management on investment manager research.


Kai Gayles

Business Manager

Kai Gayles is the Business Manager of Masterpiece Advisors supporting the team across a wide range of functions, including general administration, human resource administration, office management, and compliance record keeping.  Prior to joining Masterpiece Advisors, she worked as an administrative assistant at Analytical Research. Kai earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from The University of Albany.
